Description
This is the lower and second part of a collab between me and , who did the wonderful lineart of the dragon and I coloured it.The first part is a unicorn in a flowy position that has been sketched by me and coloured by Akeyla . Each of us have worked on the collaboration before the EF and put it together and painted in the very last details together.
Because we got stuck in a bottleneck, we couldn't take a final photo of the entire picture. Both parts fit together perfectly in colour and flow. I really love working together with Akeyla as she is one of the less but true illustrators who absolutely have self-confidence in colouring and bringing bare linearts to life.
Even in the very last minutes and even when the glass of the frame was broken, we managed to get another fitting glass and smashed in the last colour accents onto the paper to give it the right glance of perfection.
The collaboration got sold at the Eurofurence artshow and found a new home. :3
Maybe we can get hold of a photo of the entire picture to show you and to have the full beauty of the work. ^^

This is simply out of this world Alector. The ethereal mist, the mottled colours at the bottom, the colours and details of the scales...all are amazing and breathtaking. I'm surprised I could actually make a coherent comment as the piece is so stunning!

This is absolutely stunning, I'd love to see the entire piece. What medium did you use to produce the white highlights? It looks like the majority of the color work was watercolor, but the white has to be something more opaque.

The white highlights have been done with thick acrylic paint which has been spread generously on that paper.
From the middle up to the first part of the picture, we put nightglow paint on it. So it's all glowy. 8D

Sweet, nightglow is always awesome. I thought about trying it sometime to paint a sort of "hidden" skeleton under a thin top layer of a portrait, so that when you turn the lights off, all you see is the skeleton. Kind of macabre, I know, lol.
As always your work is fantastic.

Without the other half, does anybody else think it looks like the thing is chasing its tail? IMO, anywayz...
But wow, I wish I could see the whole thing put together... Out of curiosity, how much was it sold for?
