Description character reference for *Kostmeyer s secretwars event

so i throw in a villain of mine, for all those of you who have to work with him, read carefully, the rest can just ignore the following crap XD

name: the plague
aka: incubus, lilith (female form)
age: about 1800 years
sex: variable
height: variable
eyes: variable, usually red
hair: variable, usually black

powers: molecular regeneration, shapeshifting, powershifting, animation

NEW---> copied powers:

vigil's teleportation (relativeley high energy cost, so limited to 50miles)

whispers dark magic (not really a power, plague can permanently build whispers "blood pact" into his/her dna, allowing to use it together with any other power at the same time BUT plague did not master magic yet, so he/she cannot use it right now, but plague will learn...)

chompas strength

xarios powers, so everything except chaos powers (just check xarios powers and limitations)

mr. X' adapt death ability

molecular regeneration:
okay, to make it short, plague basically cannot die.
he can regenerate from only a single molecule thats left of him, although it will take time (from days to weeks, depending on matter supply (for details check weaknesses-feeding))
if his brain is not severed, he can accelerate his natural regeneration rate, allowing him to regrow lost body parts within seconds

shapeshifting:
plague can basically shapeshift into any form he wishes (except objects)
depending on the situation, he usually either takes a male or female form (to seduce enemies or other purposes)
but he can shapeshift into any being he encountered
once a genetic sample is aquired (through feeding, look below) he even can shapeshift into an exact genetic duplicate of the donator of the sample (including powers, look powershifting)
most of the creepier forms he takes, are only to scare the crap out of his victims and deliver no combat advantages.
shapeshifting costs him no energy

powershifting:
plague is able to shift through powers as he wishes, but he can only shift to the powers of those, he fed from earlier.
he cannot copy cosmic powers or powers that arent in any form manifested in the body of the victim in any form.
he cannot use two powers at the same time, exceptions are physical powers like superspeed, strength, agility (those he already owns)
switching through powers takes between 2 and 20 seconds, depending on the changes he has to make (example: switching from water to ice powers takes 2 seconds, from water to fire about 20)
he already aquired the power of telekinesis and a special form of telepathy from his former mistress.
his telepathy protects him from psychics and is used ONLY to control animated minions
to aquire a new power, he needs, as for shapeshifting a genetic sample of the victim
depending on his state of satiation he can use an aquired power to a higher extend as the original owner of the power

animation: he can reanimate dead bodies to use them as either an army or as a mobile food supply (look feeding)

weaknesses:
feeding, physical resistance, recklessness

feeding:
plague is a vampiric being and needs a constant supply of organic mass (he can absorb anything organic, no matter if the mass is alive or dead)
the usage of superpowers except shapeshifting and minioncontrol requires alot of energy, making him weaker the longer he uses powers.
plague has three kinds of feeding:
battle feeding through tentacles, he rams those directly into the victim and literally sucks out all of its mass in a matter of seconds.
skin feeding, works with any part of his body, but he often uses his hands for it.
usually its much slower than battle feeding and extremely painful, although he can feed from a victim without inflicting any pain, usually used when he seduces a victim into stealing his or her powers.
environmental feeding, its a passive form of feeding that keeps his powers at the current state, he constantly absorbs any microorganic life in the area, with the side effect of sterilizing the area entirely
again, he can feed from ANYTHING organic, including trees, plants and whatever is organic, although it doesnt deliver as much energy as living beings.
to aquire a genetic sample for shape and powershifting, a slight touch at the victim is everything he needs.

physical resistance:
plague is not able to change the density of his molecules, leaving his physical resistance in the untouched human state, in other words, he's as vulnerable as a normal human is.
although he can regenerate even deep wounds very fast, a good aimed shot to the head will disable him for several hours.

recklessness: the fact that he cannot die makes him very careless in battle situations.
if he's very hungry, he beserks towards the next feeding source, ignoring his defense completely

personality:
plague is a very sadistic being and unlike most of the other supervillains out there, plagues aims are not world dominance or destruction, he simply wants to amuse himself by watching others suffer.
he usually prefers emotional pain over physical, therefore he tries to avoid fighting most of the time.
his hobbies are planning, plotting and intriguing, he likes to manipulate others into thinking they can trust him, only to sell them out, if the time's right.
he is very patient and may even play the loyal servant if he thinks it helps him bringing his plans to fruition.
he does not really care about the eternal fight of good and bad very much, he may even help the opposite side, to achieve his goals, although he rather spends his time with all the other villains, because they are easier to manipulate.

clothing style:
plague doesnt wear any clothes actually, but he shifts his skin into something resembling black leather

bio:
born as a seemingly normal human about 200 a.d. plague soon discovered that he does not age.
for centuries he stood in the shadows waiting and watching the way of the world.
in the late 1980ies he was caught by the u.s. military which had a great interest in his physical immortality.
they held him in a research facility for almost 2 decades.
one day he got company by a young girl who was imprisoned in the cell next to his.
over the time they grew a friendship and even love.
while the scientists never solved the mystery of his immortality, they succeeded to experiment with the girl next to him.
her unique physiology allowed the scientists to give her extreme regeneration powers, which they hoped to cultivate to create regenerative soldiers.
to test the extend of this powers they kept killing her again and again with every method they could think of.
what they didnt know was that her body reacted in an agressive way to that treatment, soon the girl was able to manipulate and even create anything out of organic matter.
she broke free and infected plague with her own blood, giving him almost all of the powers she got.
after unleashing a wave of destruction over a city, the military decided to sterilize the area with a nuclear bomb.
of course plague didnt plan on dying through a nuke, unlike his mistress, who aimed for that.

...and the rest you can read in the intro pages for secret wars i will upload after this XD

I thought you said you'd update this whenever Plague acquires new powers? It's not easy keeping track, you know. XD

yes, i will update XD but its kinda stupid to write down "vigils powers" with limitations now and then in some days when plague got some of the others, updating again XD

Question - what if he/she/it is imprisoned in sterile environment? Is it possible for he/she/it to die from starvation?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

alecyl In reply to shashaveli [2009-09-13 12:00:00 +0000 UTC]

yes, he will, basically he consumes himself over time but that wont bother him much, because he has the ability to regenerate from any of his molecules left somewhere...like in a dead corpse he fed from, or even something flying around in the air... those molecules stay inactive until needed, so basically if he really "dies" in that prison hold, its very probable he will shortly after regenerate at some place he was before from scratch
btw, he can accelerate the process with his will, by damaging himself, using powers or whatever, if he thinks the situation requires this kind of solution

Good, I'm already making a catalog of Plague related counter-measures. Since for the time being I am the only "hero"(more like heroic army) with expendable redshirts for the villains to kill, I'd be your most common feeding ground. I doubt the other villains would be very happy to see their henchmen go as an appetizer.

oh, i dont think he will race across the battlefield that often...or even at all?
he rather likes staying behind, manipulating others, your character might actually have plague in his own army, with or without knowing XD
there are only three things that would draw plague into direct conflict: if he's starving, needs to feed and cant find anything else (because feeding on an army would kinda blow some of his covers, i guess XD), if he thinks inflicting physical pain on a victim would amuse him and at last if someone really really pissed him off XD
btw, secret wars has lots of people with healing factors, they are kind of an almost infinite feeding source for him...and if they arent available, he feeds on environment and nature XD
(in his original version, he loved nothing more than killing people, but since sw is a bit more live-friendly, i had to tweak him a bit )

well i think with his shapeshifting abilities will come alot of mischief, distrust and hopefully lots of conflicts among the other characters

It's when characters like this get introduced that I feel artistically intimidated. Great character! I must warn you, I'm not a great artist, but I shall draw her to the best of my ability. Also...for some reason, her bodysuit reminds me of Vigil for some reason. Anyway, Ubus Mellus welcomes you to the war.

dont be XD i wasnt any better than you when i was 18 XD
her bodysuit is no suit at all, just her skin looking like a leather catsuit XD
but she or better he XD depending on what mood he's in, can shapeshift her clothing style in any way he/she wants XD
so if you want to draw her in a sexy dress, or battle armor or whatever, thats totally okay XD

Will do! I like to compensate with my lacking artistic-ness with humor (yeah...that's right, I control the Secret War's comic relief, Dario the henchman. Booya!). Unfortunately I could never compete with those who are top notch in both aspects. But I try, and that's all that matters.

I'm very interested in what Plague shall bring to the war. Will she join the ranks of the anti-Axiom league, go loner and scheme for her own ends, or will she be one of the few totally devoted to him? Who can say? New characters are a mysterious bunch, they are. Once again, welcome. Can't wait to see Plague in action...well, more action (that was a fantastic entrance)!

well, i wasnt good at art, but i sat down, worked hard on my skills, studied alot and now im becoming better each day

like i wrote in his reference, his only aim is see others suffer for his own amusement XD therefore he acts depending on the situation XD sometimes he's loyal, only to commit treason some time later and sometimes he poses as other characters to manipulate others the way he wants XD
