Description
I think this is one of my best drawings so far.. I'm actually a little proud of it ^_^I have been told to work without smudging, so I thought I should try it.. and I have to say it's quite hard, not because of the drawing, but because of the patience I needed xD
Drawn from a tiny reference from the paper, it was awful. Bad quality. Drawn with a 2B pencil on a4 sized paper

This is really, really good. Really really good!! The patience you had to have for not smudging really paid off!! It's brilliant!!

I love the lighting and texture in this. And her well-defined features makes her look very serious and weary for such a young girl..

Wow, I love your gallery. This is one of my favourite pieces, cause the details and the lighting really do look good - also, it seems more like a finished piece than a lot of your other pencil work. Parts of the hair and the ear give away that you're copying from a reference without enough detail, but other than that, it's excellent :]

Thanks a lot! And you're right about finishing, most of my works I don't really finish, I just loose my patience. xD
And yeah, I know I didn't really know how to make that right..
And thanks again. Also for the favourite!

I have that problem all the time. I generally just end up going messy line-art is a valid style what do you mean I'm lazy?
When I'm copying one pic, I go find others to use for extra references - if you were to google "cornrow hair braids", or whatever you could find references for the kid's hairstyle. Or look for a someone in a similar pose to figure out how the ear should look. With the hair, the main thing that looks off is that there isn't hair feeding in on either side of the braid - the bit that's braided should be in the middle of the "row" of hair. If you get what I mean.
But anyway, the picture's done and looks good No worries!

Haha xD yes. xD
Well, that's a good idea! And about the hair: it probably wasn't like this on the ref pic, but they weren't in the middle of the row either.. xD But you're right that it's still wrong. xD
Thanks

I looked through your gallery and I agree! I think this is your best piece yet. ^^
I love the effect that you got when there wasn't smudging. It may require patience, but it looks really nice!
Keep it up!!

I wouldn't be able to get anywhere without smudging... pencil is so hard to use! this looks fabulous though, and the face is so intense.

thanks for your comment! Your drawing is really nice too! agree its difficult to draw without smudging, but it is very easy that it looks kind of greasy if u do, but have u tried using a blending Stumps??

Oh it's beautiful I'm so proud that you didn't use smudging sticks, because looks how smooth this is without them! I know it's not perfect, but it will help you enhance your abilities with a pencil. Just wait and see!
I love the mouth so much in this, it is perfect, I think. The shape, the tones--everything about it is perfectly done. The eyes are so dark, and I love how they're just so smooth. The air looks like it would have been difficult, but I believe you accomplished them well! The nose is a bit off, but they're hard to do especially in children (I look at my own work and say things like that, don't take offense ^^ ) It's all very nice, you did a great Job :3
Also it reminds me of the song by Monaco called "What Do You Want From Me"

Thanks a lot! And yeah, I thought, why not try it?
and you were right, it's actually in the end a nicer and better way of drawing..
Thanks ^.^
Thank you very much, and you're right about the nose.. the nose on the ref pic was really small, so I had some trouble drawing it, and as you see I couldn't make up one..
o__0 I didn't know there was a song called like this?
