Chun Li Phour Mod (Alt3) Ver. 1.0, for SF4 PC

Homepage: [link]
Original Alt3 made by Capcom and backported by sensibeat
Replaces Regular outfit.

This project is called “Chun Li Phour” (i.e. “Chun Li 4”) because it attempts to put Chun Li in proper SF4 visual style, giving her the same treatment as the rest of the characters. The starting point reference is her sprites from the Alpha series, as those are the last 2D SF games with consistent proportions (SF3 had a great deal of individualized abstraction in space and on the pictorial plane), giving the “Ph” from “Alpha” to the mod name.

In short, the objective of this project is to turn the noodle-armed, fat-legged Chun Li from SF4 into the athletic Chun Li from SFA. This release covers her Alt3, and in addition to the body changes, it fixes some inaccuracies of the outfit while I’m at it.

In order to meet the objective, this mod features:
-Buffed arms to Alpha level. (mesh, texture, bump)
-Abs definition. (texture, bump)
-Leg liposuction and muscle toning, removed cankles, and tweaked some joints. (mesh, texture, bump)
-Underheel straps for the spandex piece, whatever they’re called. (texture)
-Stripes on shoes, and as a random detail some gibberish logo on the shoe soles. (texture, bump)
-Braided hair buns. (texture, bump)

I plan to do the same to her Regular and Alt1 in the future (not sure if I’ll bother with Alt2; it’s ugly as crap). Feel free to do them yourself and save me some work if you are in a modding mood, and you may also remake/improve this one if you have the 1337 skills to do it better (I can provide the .psd files of the modified maps if you want to work on them, with layers and stuff).

To use this mod, take the 11 .emz files contained in this zip and put them in your StreerFighterIV->Battle->Chara->CNL folder, making the proper backup of the existing files. The color rectangle at the character selection screen is not modified (it shows the variants of the Regular outfit instead), so use the picture included to know which color is which.

Thank you!

I suppose that you haven't missed the newer version [link] , right? (it's ok if you like this old one better).

I made some adjustments for this to work in the Arcade Edition. This is still THE best Chun li mod, and it's still my default to this day.

This is the best Chun-li mod in my opinion. I'll be using this mod permanently.

Thank you! I'll also be using it myself, at least till I start modifying the default one.

Alt2? Do you mean that Black Dress?

Too bad I don't own the PC version of SF4.

I only have this laptop, so I don't have the necessary upgrades for it.

That's the Alternate 1. The Alternate 2 is the ugly one with lots random pieces of fabric going (and clipping) everywhere.

No te confies.

This is a very impressive mod! I think it looks better than the official one. The only thing I wonder about is whether or not she has feet under her shoes. I wish you'd make a barefoot Juri mod.

Alejandro-Mikros In reply to Hajiki [2011-01-20 08:53:00 +0000 UTC]

She has no feet. I recall seeing people speculate when Capcom showed a sketch with no shoe, but that sketch was only to show the straps that I mention in the list of features (ironically, Capcom didn't bother actually doing those straps in the game, just like they didn't make her hair buns braided or the stripes on the shoes).

When (if?) Capcom makes SSF4 for PC, I'm sure that someone will make a barefoot Juri. Until then, there doesn't seem to be much interest in modding characters that you can't play with in a normal way.

I appreciate the response, I think it's disappointing that she doesn't have feet, I honestly wish that they would give every character's 10th color some small alteration like in Cammy's new alt, she has no mask. The reason I mentioned Juri was because I've seen people actually paste her character model over existing characters on the PC version, It's after that point people started to mod her.
