For those familiar with Dartmoor, or even those who appreciate the landscape, its easy to understand why Vixen Tor holds such great appeal, but entry to the public is forbidden because it is privately owned.

This was taken on the say I went rainbow hunting unsucessfully. This is more or less the lowest the sun can get in the sky before Vixen Tor, which lies beneath surrounding hillsides is in shadow.

I really need to get out more at this time, when the light has softened, is highly directional, and yet doesnt have the trademark warmth of sunset.

On the distance lies Great Mis Tor. A location with commanding views but which is itself very challenging to photograph.
