some coursework from university, they're initial sketches before I start working on ideas for my book cover. I have to do a bunch of these for tomorow.Related content

is it me or... the witch
dont like the witch too muc, althought the hat and 'the trees' hv this effect...spiral or whatever effect, kinda cool in this case but not enought, how ever, its your work and im not an expert

I LOVE it when fairy tales are illustrated this way!! I've seen so much Alice in Wonderland and Snow White, it's nice to see that someone hasn't forgotten Hansel and Gretel 
I think your drawings are much more unique and interesting than your old photomanips, which were good too..but I like your new stuff more

I really love the one of the two children headed towards the house. It's tunnel vision draws you forward and into the book, ready to turn to that first page and start an amazing adventure. Will your book be available on DA?

each looks really nice, and seems to portray your personality.
I tend to favor the one in the bottom right, it has a nice depth to it, and seems like it would work by itself as something like a book cover, because it makes you want to go deeper into the picture

Absolutely beautiful. I love the red glow coming off the house and the large trees surrounding it and the two small figures, absolutely alone, but so together. I love it. I'm faving.

it reminds me of a charactor from a movie....I can't remember the movie. It's the magic painbrush or something but the king hates the painter...hated the word and everything. The painter got the paintbrush while he was sleeping in the woods and it gave him the power to talk to the animals...The bear's name was Bud E Bear....anyway the first picture reminds me of Thissle, the kings little henchman^_^

I love the top picture. So simplictic and cool. I like.
The bottom two pictures remind me of a play called INTO THE WOODS.
It's a story, made up of characters from classic fairytails. Hansel & Gredel weren't in it, but the little house surrounding the big trees reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother's house.

I, for one....like the new things you have been putting out. I was not aware you had such a talent in this aspect of media, but...these drawings just go to prove me wrong. Not only are you an excellent photographer and photominipulater....but your also and awesome artist. Very talented....keep up the good work Alex...in whatever you decide to put up for us here to see.
