Right on my birthday yesterday, April 28, 2022, something terrible happened - the famous children's channel Nickelodeon stopped broadcasting in Russia.
Gone is the era, as they say.
First they closed Jetix, then Children's World/Teleclub (however, only in Ukraine and exclusively with our local TV provider "Volia"), then Cartoon Network, and now they've reached Nickelodeon.

For me, the departure of the Nickelodeon channel from the former USSR is one of the main losses of the year. I have a lot of childhood memories associated with the Nickelodeon brand, it was part of my childhood. I watched it very often, it was one of my favorite TV channels. I liked everything on this channel, but still one of my favorite shows, like most children, was SpongeBob SquarePants. I had a lot of merchandise with him as a child, including a children's magazine (I had many issues) and a plush toy. In addition, I also went to the movies to see the feature films "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" and "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run". For me, these were normal films, but not masterpieces.
It's a shame and a pity that another piece of childhood died right before your eyes. Childhood is not forever.
