Okays, so i think i made a few mistakes here and there on this one but im still getting the hang of it, k?
Just a random drawing/animation.
All vectors and basic hand sketch at the beginning.

Also (for THIS endeavor):
You DON'T need to SPEED-UP the "Animation", you just NEED MORE "Frames" — to make it LESS CHOPPY, and for the animation to RUN MORE SMOOTHLY!

I love petrification as much as everyone here — maybe, even more so!
They had a similar scene in an old "POWER RANGERS: Mystic Force" Episode, titled: "Rock Solid"...
...in that episode, the "process" began in the center of the victim's body, and spread outward — turning them to stone!
Now then (and this goes, for EVERYONE!): if you START the "process", in the CENTER, and SPREAD OUTWARD, it will LOOK SO MUCH BETTER, that you'll get EVEN MORE ACCOLADES, from your fellow artists, and admirers!

I think the hair would change last as the stone moves up the head and gets to the hair. But that's just me

Hmm... I dunno that it needs to be faster - smoother would be better, I think, if you continue to work on this, or maybe make more like it

OMG! That is all kinds of cool! (And you do realize that I'm faving the bejeezus out of it. 
I'd agree that it's not totally smooth yet, and the move to indexed colors in gif format tends to make the colors come out looking definitely 'bitmapped'. But those might be small foibles. I'd be kind of curious to see the original flash, if that's what you started in, myself.
At any rate, great stuff, Alex! Good to see you doing art again!!

Nevermind, i'll try my best on the next one then.
The original flash movie didnt look as nice as the gif file, so that's why i submitted the gif instead of swf file.

the only other thing is probably an advanced skill, but the petro should go from the chest to the arms, not the arms... in my opinion
