Does anyone else see a geometric version of the Galactic Empire symbol (from Star Wars) in the center?

The little girl had grown so much
She is not little
Not a girl
A woman, sheβs center of attention
Of men who want her
Men who donβt
And everybody thinks they know
Whatβs right for her
And what is wrong
Her selflessness is naked
Like drain pipes in the snow
She radiated warmth
For everyone who wanted
Until the snow
Had melted

Look at the center. It's an imperial snowflake

Go Empire, even the snowflake agrees

Very cool shot, revealing the 3-dimensionality of the crystal.

Never ceases to amazes me what snow looks like up close so uniform and perfect, I would have thought they were made by machines. Fantastic close up shots, great lighting and backdrop. Thank you very much for sharing all of these wonderful photos!

I really like the angle you took this photo at. It gives a nice sense of the 3D shape of the snowflake.

This is utterly stunning. As a fractal explorer I am always looking to nature to see the same sort of thing...and I know it's there. This proves it. Mathematical beauty.
Wonderful work. Thank you.

Isn't it amazing how snowflakes naturally shape themselves like this?

It's not rocket science, it's chemistry and understanding molecular structure.

Yeah. Like they were designed to do it... a snowflake on its own gives the theory of evolution a run for its money.

No. Incorrect.
It's chemistry and molecular structure.

gotta-love-furries In reply to EbolaSparkleBear [2013-02-23 20:15:49 +0000 UTC]
But answer me this: how did that structure come about? You'd honestly have be believe that it just made itself up?
π: 0 β©: 1
EbolaSparkleBear In reply to gotta-love-furries [2013-02-23 21:57:50 +0000 UTC]
The structure is not made up nor did the molecules decide to 'make itself up'.
It's nothing more then LEGOs, the pieces fit certain ways in certain conditions.
Temperature, humidity, and wind speeds all affect the formation of the crystals. It's not a secret or rocket science, it's basic organic chemistry.
The only time gods are invoked is when people who do not understand anything need something explained.

How do you explain how the universe came into existance in the first place? What made the 'big bang'?
