Description
Acrylic paint, acrylic ink, and typewritten collage on canvas.Self Portrait final assignment for Painting II.
Still learning how to tweak my colors to match real life. :/ I'll figure it out someday.
It's not of my face, but it's a futurist rendering of my memory of a failed backflip attempt when I took karate. There are a bunch of loosely connected thoughts typewritten on torn up pieces of paper in the background. Some are still readable under the paint on full resolution, but some are completely obscured, much like my actual memory of the near-concussion inducing event.

Great piece!! I have used this painting as an example of futurist paintings and how they relate to fractalism, in my article, which can be found here: fav.me/d8ukvkj

I'm no art buff but this is an amazing Futurist style painting. One of the best part of this painting are the pieces of text in the background, they are this little window into the artist himself. Each phrase can signify a meaning "I know I messed" or "neck is too terrifying". Great work and great piece. Although some art critics might be a bit harsh.

Eh, critics are critics. A lot of the text is obscured by the paint. Part of me wishes it was all readable, but the obscurity is a lot like how those thoughts were fractured and muddled in real life.

I love how it's not a typical portrait. Well done!
