Who are these guys? I have never heard of them. One of them looks like Superman with a mohawk. Right beside him looks like Silver Surfer minus his board. On the other side looks like Thor only he's a skeleton. And the outer two I can't pin down look a likes for them.

The Horse Skull thor is Beta Ray Bill and was a classic character from the Walt Simonson run of Thor in the early 80's. The Mohawk guy is Gladiator from the Shi'ar Imperial Guard and X men fame. Of course we have the Silver Surfer. The guy in the green armor is Ronan the Accuser of the Kree empire. And last but not least on the far left we have Quasar, defender of the Universe.

Well in the early 80's I was still in diapers. But I must admit most of what I know of comics comes from cartoons and what random studying I have done. So if they didn't appear in any cartoons I probably wouldn't recognize them. Thanks for the info though.

I must recommend Planet Hulk on dvd if you like the cartoons. Beta Ray Bill makes an appearance and is quite awesome. Nice profile pic btw.

WOW, very imposing and dramatic cover! love the pattern in background at top and the lighting on characters - also their poses are over so overly heroic, which works with the Art Deco vibe.

Thanks! With Gladiator I think of Superman, who then makes me think of Alex Ross which is where those ultra-heroic poses come from.
