Spectacular!Β
Have you ever done a cover for the good old Savage Sword of Conan?
This sir here = was one of my favorites, side by side with Earl Norem and Bob Larkin.

One aspect of Alex's work that is so admirable is that no matter how lofty or cerebral (!) the theme Β , the basic fundamentals are never neglected : aerial and linear perspective, tonal values in their relation with light and reflected light, anatomy, intuitive use of color ( and color's relation with Β distance and other colors, etc, the list is exhaustive ) . the BASICS are always clearly defined. In essence, Alex's work could be studied in the same way as the Old Masters work was studied by students and other Masters back in the renaissance.Β

Cheers, bro! I don't know about the " old masters" thing , but it's always rewarding when those elements are noticed, besides the overall result...

Actually, I always think of "Old Masters" as well, whenever I look at one of your paintings, Alex. Not the same old masters that robertnuckels thinks of (though I can see which artists you thought of, robert! ^^), but more of the masters of fantasy art back in the 1980ies!
I've been around in several art communities on the internet for about 12 years now, but I've never seen anyone who was still able to paint fantasy scenes like this one using traditional media. I wish I was able to create something like this as well... but it will surely take AGES to learn that and I'm sure most artists won't ever reach this level of skill, no matter how much they practise!

Thanks, man! I'm flattered! I can do digital if I have to, I just enjoy traditional more. And I'm also much faster with real brushes..
