Description
~ Time for your bath, children. On May 19, 1922 the second All-Russian Komsomol Conference decided to create pioneer units all over the country.
Thousands of Young Pioneer camps were set up where children went during summer vacation and winter holidays. All of them were free of charge, sponsored by the government and Trade Unions.
These were basically children's camps where kids would spend their summers, playing together, learning, swimming, learning knots, earning medals, wearing red ties, and loving grandfather Lenin.
The 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union had devastated funding for the Pioneer camps and most of them had been forgotten and are now consumed by nature in decay.
This is a shot from one of these camps, lost deep in forest of Siberia.
From what I can tell... this used to be a bathroom.
I jumped into the bathtub and rode in it, praising the spirit of grandfather Lenin.

Isn't distruction beautiful? In a way... I have wanted to visit Russia since I saw a city that was devestaed by the nuclear tragedy. It is safe to enter now, maybe only by government officals and such, but I would love to take my camera to Russia!

wow that is a beautifully taken picture!
That house needs some love It's kindof sad to see a run-down, empty house...
It tells a story of its own about the toil, abuse and history that followed that house... and a message left by the people who once lived/stayed there

What a beautiful picture albeit morbid and with irreparable history.
I love pictures with a story behind them and I find abandon buildings
and homesites to be a cornucopia of lives past.
Wonderful work.

better, then on this shot.-_- But people still try to live there.

A year ago me and my geographie course visited a german brown coal open pit and some villages which had to be knocked down since the coal-company had found oil resorces there. This picture reminds me of the scary atmosphere in those abendoned, addicting villages ...
