Reminds me of Lord of the rings 3 with the big spider and the light

This is impressive. The sound effects and animation work with the image excellently it's hard to imagine it was once just a simple painting.
Amazing work!

Amazing, the draw by itself was already one of my favorites from your gallery, but now... wow it looks alive, and the music makes you waiting for something to happen. Great work.

It's a shame it's impossible to have this is an animated background because that would be awesome.
Anywho, it just seems odd to me that we can see the "snowflakes" only when zoomed in.
I think it would create more fluid movement in the animation as a whole if the flakes were there when zoomed out as well.

Ahh, aren't you glad that these days you can have animated interfaces like that without worrying about most people still having internet too slow to view it without waiting 10 minutes to load nice job!

You really caught the mysterious character of your painting, and amplified it
I have no critique whatsoever

Awesome. Going to add any more places to zoom in? Gory detail is fun.

An amazing artwork. Only two things bother me a bit: If the creature is blind, why does it have three lights on its legs? And it looks like in the background that there is a lightsource from above, like in a cave with a few holes in the ceiling where the sun shines through

haha good question.
the creature evolved a bit farther than the story that inspired it.
and yes, there is another light source in this world, but the hero doesn't pay attention to it in this part.

The imagery combined with the music is really striking. I stared at this for a good few minutes, entranced, and I've since had it running in a background tab just because I like the music so much. I really enjoy this!

I can already imagine those legs moving, the whole mass just shifting, bits of ground moving... this is great.
The music was really effective, I think without it, this would've been quite lacking, so great choice and use of music.

mmmm~ cool
i think the 3 headlights on the spider bot can come on after the light in the man's hand is lit
right now the light feels awkward the way the reveal is animated
i like the spinning mouth LOL

I agree that was original plan, and it'll probably require me to manually paint those in.

dont you hvae it on a separate layer?
another way is to animate it with aftereffects and output it to flash just as a video

alexiuss In reply to JerryCai [2009-04-02 07:25:44 +0000 UTC]
nah
I paint mostly by constantly merging, since layers lag like ass at resolutions of 10000+ pixels

JerryCai In reply to alexiuss [2009-04-02 09:40:14 +0000 UTC]
lol they lag that much?
well for things like light i usually keep on a separate layer... but i dont work at resolutions ur size
oh another thing would be the zoom in and out... with motion blur like that should probably zoom faster

Yes, I think it probably will. I was thinking about that too... We'll get to that part eventually, my friend. It'll be kick-ass!
