The Magic Schoolbus joins the Apocalypse.
The episode where Ms. Frizzle and the class go foward in time experience an apocalyptic event, but find their bus destroyed, so they must go back in time to prevent themselves from doing it again.

In one fan-fic, the Magic School Bus takes the class on an extended field trip (sandwiches,etc., taken along) and never returns. No trace is ever found. An investigation shows that Ms.Frizzle was NOT actually employed at the school, and it was NOT standard policy for a teacher to actually have his or her own bus.
Walkerville becomes a gated community, suspicious of all outsiders and trusting nobody. A memorial to the vanished children stands.
