Maybe it just me, but she seems to be less 'soaring', and more 'blown into the air by an explosion'.

That was what I was thinking. Not that it isn't pretty, it is. It just looks like she's being forced back by an explosion. Especially with the cuts on her face. I thought the white clouds in the right side of the picture were missiles.

You need to rotate the picture by 180 degree. Your "missiles" are stones from the explosion jammed into the sea near the castle.
I think it makes more sense then
