Cthulu Lives! This is the finished image for my Creature Design video tutorial, available for download now!Based on H.P. Lovecraft's story, this creature was described as a gargantuan horror, making men go insane from just looking at it!...rad, I know
Done entirely in photoshop in about two days. In my video, you'll see me create this from scratch and talk in detail about the process. Video tutorials on environment design and brush creation are there as well.

Remarkable! Lovecraft's pretty popular, so a lot off people have become...... used to the idea of Cthulhu, to the point where it's not so strange anymore. THIS is a worthy interpretation of an eldritch abomination! Alien and horrific, yet still largely faithful to Lovecraft's original description. Amazing work!

masterpiece! only know of Cthulhu from the IDW comics Infestation 2, and obviously have heard of HP Lovecraft, and you definitely capture the image of it in my head, amazing!

I'm surprised it could make men go mad by looking at it! Out of the strangeness of it all, this beast is bizarre yet gorgeous! I could so imagine being the protector of some fantastic fortress. I would love to be it's best friend; it is so beautiful. And, then again, I am a deranged animal lover. Even something like this is lovable in my eyes. Or maybe it's already driven me mad ...

If you read Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu and go a little deeper into his stories, you'll soon learn to not like it.

I love this depiction of Cthulhu; I prefer it greatly over the somewhat ridiculous depictions of him as an obese octopus monster. In this picture, he truly conveys the horror and ancient power that Cthulhu is supposed to have.
