Description
Some excellent work by that I never got around to uploading, plus an updated version of Emerald's bio (which I'll replace the other versions with too).Emerald “The Irish Tornado”
Real Name: Molly Elizabeth O'Connor
Age: 23
Height: 5' 7”
Hair: Red (Natural)
Eyes: Green
Hometown: Albany, New York
Billed as: Dublin, Ireland
Fighting attire: Light green trikini with wide dark green trim, white elbow and knee pads, green thigh-high stockings with shamrock frills at the top, topped off with green knee-high wrestling boots.
Alignment: Face
Background:
Molly is a second-generation wrestler. Her mom used to wrestle when she was younger. Molly remembers occasionally seeing her mom wrestle and enjoying it. After college Molly became a middle-school teacher but still wanted some excitement in her life. She decided to take up her mom's old hobby as a profession under the name Emerald. Molly's career as a teacher ended soon after, however, as footage of one of her matches was leaked to some of her co-workers. In the match she lost and was stripped of her clothing. She ended up quitting teaching rather than dealing with the embarrassment.
She's taken the gimmick of being a tough Irish girl because she was born in Dublin, Ireland. Her mother was visiting family when she was born. As a result Molly is technically native Irish. Of course in reality she's just an all-American hometown girl-next-door who happens to have a fair amount Irish blood. Ironically, her beautiful ginger hair comes from the Croatian, not Irish, side of her family.
Molly has always had an attitude and considers herself to be tough. She fits right in with all the other wrestlers and their egos, but unfortunately she's not actually a very good wrestler. Her disposition often gets her in trouble when it comes to other, tougher and more experienced fighters. While some of her peers get along with her pretty well, Molly usually ends up in the middle of some kind of petty drama.
Until recently, Molly was supposedly married. After a one-night-stand and a pregnancy scare, she insisted that her brother's friend Jerry marry her. He inherited a house upon marrying and they moved in together, despite the fact that she really hated him. Soon after the rushed marriage, she found out that it had been a faulty pregnancy test, but to keep the house they had to live together. Jerry later found out that no papers had been filed and so the marriage was never real, lucky for him. However, by then Molly had enough money from wrestling that none of it really mattered. She paid off Jerry and kept the house, which she now lives in with her friend Abby, aka Gamer Girl.
Molly loves to drink and party when she can, but despite what she tells people, she is a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and tends to get wasted at the start of parties. During her marriage she came out as a lesbian and has dated several women since then. The relationships don't last long, however, since Molly's attitude tends to get in the way. Even when it comes to platonic relationships, Molly has some trouble keeping them. While she does have a best friend in Abby, much of it is because Abby is willing to put up with Molly's bossy attitude while Molly is willing to put up with her vapidness.
Wrestling:
Emerald is a high-flying wrestler who the fans just love. She's very fit and has a good amount of technical expertise. She's fond of Irish whips and all kinds of cartwheels, somersaults, dives, moonsaults and hurricanranas. Anything that keeps the momentum going is a favorite of Emerald's. Indeed, her entire style is all about keeping the momentum up to rob her opponents of any opportunity to turn the tide.
Unfortunately, Emerald's record doesn't match her abilities. She's lost far more matches than she's won. Sometimes she manages to hit a great combination of moves against her opponent but they inevitably reverse the situation and use her risky moves against her. Another problem is that Red Light Wrestling isn't very good at handling cheating as a whole. Emerald usually gets worn down by her opponents' dirty tactics and is helpless to do anything about it. Even worse, the heels in the league seem to like stripping her of her clothing after defeating her in their matches. Despite all of this, Emerald fights on and keeps improving.
Something else Emerald is known for during her matches is losing her composure. She absolutely hates losing, meaning that she tends to get desperate. It's not uncommon to see her pulling hair, scratching or aiming low when she's losing. Usually these tactics get her nowhere, however, since she only uses them when things aren't going her way in the first place.
Opinions:
on Gamer Girl
Molly and Gamer Girl consider themselves BBFs, although Molly thinks that's lame. She thinks Abby is pathetic for working so hard to be likeable, though at the same time wishes she could be that likeable. Molly bosses her around and can usually get her to do whatever she wants. Sometimes Abby tries to get intimate with her and occasionally succeeds, but Molly doesn't usually let it go too far. When it comes to wrestling she thinks that Gamer Girl is a complete loser and hates being teamed up with her. However, now that they live together she's been giving the gamer a little more slack.
on Salem
Molly is always in a dilemma when it comes to Salem. Molly doesn't really like her, she finds her condescending, but she wants her as a tag-team partner. She thinks Salem is a haughty bitch who thinks she's better than everyone because she's into nature and mysticism. Molly sucks up to her whenever she can but there's only so much she can take before her inner bitchiness comes out. They had a brief physical relationship, which made everything ten times worse.
on Sarah Freeman
Molly puts up with Sarah to an extent. She likes that Sarah isn't a know-it-all like Salem, but she's a bossy loudmouth. Her faith bothers Molly often, especially because Sarah is so insistent everyone do things her way. Being Catholic, Molly can tolerate to her religious blathering, although only so much. Sarah's obvious attraction to women (obvious to everyone but herself) and ongoing attempts to justifying them while still hating homosexuality provide endless entertainment for Molly though.
