Description Wow lookit all those tropes I used!

So this probably deserves a little bit of explanation, particularly for some friends of mine who know this subject particularly well (even though I don't think it's necessary to defend myself cause I don't caaaare).

Back in the olden days when my anatomy was atrocious and I thought animal art was the only thing that existed, I discovered the mighty power of webcomics. I followed quite a few, one being Good Cheese by Kelly Hamilton, and the other being Blackblood Alliance by KayFedewa (and later FablePaint when she joined). I remember it back before there weren't pretty backgrounds and a solid style and wow I feel old. But anyway, I actually did enjoy reading it and following along with its redux. Then somewhere along the line I became one of "those" people: the ones who felt like "woof comics bad grr!!" I even have a stamp up about it. Not for any real reason (aside from a couple incidents where I got aggravated at the whole "unless your comic is about wolves you suck" thing) it was just because I wanted to be one of those "logical comic artists" who wanted to point out flaws in everything.

Well, I'm still ridiculously anal about comics. My own, yours, your momma's, that hobo's down the street who steals wifi from Starbucks. But I have grown up to realize that, hey, nothing's going to be perfect. We all have to start somewhere. When I look back at BBA now, sure it's not perfect, but that doesn't make it bad. My own comic started out like a flaming pile of unmentionables, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to stop enjoying it and I have used all the feedback I've gotten to continuously improve. When I happened to stumble by Kay's page again and notice the BBA project was being rebooted, I was pretty happy about it. Maybe I'm not a huge fan, but I can respect anyone who had to go through everything they went through and still they listen to the critique they are given to make the comic better. And I support the idea that they aren't giving up on something they love.

So with that said (yay rambling spiels!), I decided to join this little contest~ I always wondered just what it'd be like when the blackbloods returned to save their old pack. Also I kinda hate Whitewind?? Kinda. But now I'm just sad and feel all the guilt.

The derpy Swiftkill in panel 2 is my fav. I was going to redo her but then I was all "... no. >8I" and she stayed. Because I love it.

Also I still love drawing blood.
P.S. I still can't draw wolves cryyyyy

Completely new. Most the speculation I've seen as to the relationships between characters is also pretty off as we're retaining the basic message, but not the same plot.

Oh god! I totally thought this was something Kay uploaded. I watch her too because I remember stumbling on BBA on the net and then like months later figuring out she was on DA too. 7.7 and then started watching her.. That was way back when I was still , and I STILL watch her on this account. ANYWAY, I saw this in my inbox and didn't even look to see if Kay drew it, just thought its a BBA thing, must be her. SO, when I realized it was you I was like, "NO way!" I wasn't expecting that and it totally looks like it could be a lost page from the comic.

I don't know if I ever watched her. I feel like I did, then did one of those clean sweeps of watchlists and only kept friends. I know I followed her though cause an old screenshot of my desktop I had uploaded here had a link to Kay's dA on it, haha. That was about 6-7 years ago.
But hurrah! I tried somewhat mimicking but also using my own style for it. I didn't have immense time to put into it between school and my own comic but I wanted to put effort into it and pull it off. (Minus poopy backgrounds. Those are very, very poopy. pfff)

Well the sketchiness and lazy-ish background gives it a feel like it was in the storyboard phase still (not yet finalized) and then it ended up being ditched. Which is what a lost page is supposed to be. If you look at comics (like from Movel or even some manga) they sometimes have an 'extended' edition where they added in 'lost pages' and they are very sketchy (Sometimes don't even have color). So I think you achieved the look very well, regardless of if that was intentional or if it was just the result of being rushed.
