Got inspiration from the song but the picture doesn't really connect. xD And I did not intend for this to be a "rave" kinda thing. So don't say they are raving. Cause Feddy no rave.
I just drew this for the fun of it. To practice character interaction, lighting, as well as trying to practice with Kailani and Federico's size difference. His hands are as big as her head! D8 May or may not be 100% accurate but from what I gather it should be pretty darn close. Oh, and muscle/men anatomy practice too. What, you think I just drew him in a muscle shirt for fun? YOU WEIRDOS.
I kept showing WIPs to people on the ToH iscribble. They proved to be rather helpful. So you all get virtual cookies!
When I asked what to do for the background ~Chamfruit suggested something blue. Cause blue is cool (hehe color theory joke).
For The Selection readers:
Before I get people excited waiting for Kailani and Federico to be all clingy to each other in the story, yeah, don't get your hopes up. xD That's not going to happen for a long while. And also don't expect to see Federico without his uniform on for awhile either.
Also, please take this as a... er... peace offering because I'm probably going to be reeeeaalllly late with the next TS pages. I have decided to wait to do the buffer no matter how long it takes. I promise you it won't be forever, though. Should be done less than a month I hope.

It can easily be seen on Feddy's face that he doesn't rave, just like you pointed out XD
The markins on their bodies is really well done, it mixes very well with their skin.
The only thing that you need a little more practice on is with Kailani's hand.

You've really got the anatomy down- something I can never fully get
I just always wonder how you get such straight lines! Do you use something on photoshop? Or is it the graphics tablet you use? XD

Nope, I just use a plain tablet. In fact, my tablet was relatively cheap and is a beginner's tablet at best (hope to get a new, better one within the next years as mine has started to get worn out again. It's my second one xD). And I use Photoshop elements which lacks any real helpful lining tools like the Pen Tool haha.
What I do is basically just make really quick strokes. Often for really long parts (like Kailani's lizard tail, Feddy's ear... whisker thingies, etc.) I'll make a new layer and just do one long stroke on it then move it around to fit to the lineart. xD

Ya know..I think I know why this picture seems 'different' to me...We've never really seen Kailani smile. She did it only twice, though they don't really count since they were fake awkward ones. Every other time we saw her she was either nervous, worried, or..well, awkward.

Excellent job, Filly. This picture is very attractive and eye catching despite the cool colors. I like how the hair, markings, and glowing bioluminescent orbs are presented this time around. Before it kind of bugged me of their origins, now I see some logic behind their growth process, not fully explained but logic nonetheless.
It got me to start wondering how heavy those tails are though. Feddy surely is strong enough. I find it funny how he blends in to the background since his color. xD
I can read their emotions and I must say it makes one curious of the relationship.

I'm not sure how heavy the two fluffy tails are, but her reptilian tail is quite heavy. That's why she primarily is seen dragging it on the ground. Not very sanitary. 8I
