Well it's only been a good 7+ years but hey look, Nelthilta finally has a completed reference! I think the last reference she had was back before I even had a dA and it was during my Invader Zim craze. One of the reasons I never made her one was because I have been lacking much confidence in her design. She's one of those characters that is very hard to alter design-wise for me (same with Garin). Not because I can't, but because I just don't want to; I suppose because I've become so attached to her. It wasn't until I rewrote her story in NaNo of 2011 that I included her disguised version, which gave me a more comfortable excuse to change her, even though the change is not really a permanent one. Other than that, her design has been changed very slightly.
To explain her two versions, her normal/Royal is how she would be drawn for fun or for her normal roles in stories. Her Citizen Disguise is how she actually ends up looking a good 60% or so of Calestine Princess due to her having to hide out and raise Garin outside of the palace. This version can also be drawn by people who don't want to die with her normal form! =D
But all that aside Yay Nelthy! Now for other info.
She carries it on her person almost at all times. It is very similar to a Catholic Rosary in that she uses it when reciting prayers. However it is not nearly as complex as a rosary in that the beads don't signify anything in particular at this time. It is not worn like a necklace, but simply held in her hand, wrapped around her wrist, or hanging from/put into a pocket or something of the sort. It is a symbol of her devotion and connection to the Spirit Calestine. (It is not a requirement to be drawn by others though.)
As many of my older watchers know, Nelthilta is special because she was born with the Calestine, the Spirit of Hatred and Pity, trapped into her soul. The spirit is host-like in that it cannot enter the mortal realm in its spirit form, so it has to dwell within a being in order to fulfill its duty. While it is not actually physically seen inside her, Nelthilta is aware it is there, often by the pain it inflicts on her periodically. The spirit is very unruly, and depending on the amount of stress it receives, amongst other factors, it can attempt to escape its mortal entrapment, which contorts Nelthilta's body and mind into a very grotesque and distorted form. While it happens incredibly rarely (only once in the story, and one other time when she was younger) it is incredibly painful to her. The spirit is not capable of escaping, however, and it will heal her body back to its origin form. Otherwise it does not actually do anything to her and remains dormant.
(Her distorted form is not finalized but you can see various versions throughout my gallery and Tumblr, such as this. )
Nelthilta is very curious, intelligent, and sometimes a bit head strong. While she has no qualms with being the princess and knowing she may one day take her mother's place, she has a lot of distaste for her fellow royals, because they do not care about much of anything outside of their luxurious living. Nelthilta, on the other hand, wishes to understand her people and she is not afraid to get a little dirty. She is also a very spiritual person, due to her Calestine, who constantly wishes to seek out answers that may or may not exist. Upon becoming a mother, she also became very paranoid and protective, as well as incredibly open-minded to none-Ambivian races and cultures.
-She is the mother of hybrid son Garin .
-She is 15 at the start of her story, but otherwise she has no set age since she ages in the story as well.
-Her name is pronounced "nell-thill-tuh" and can be shortened to just "Nelthy". I named her after a rabbit in Watership Down.
-She has a very poor relationship with her mother, Matieka, due to various reasons.
-She loves to ride horses, especially her stallion Bartholomew.
-Yay theme song!

Yes! 8D Even though the Nelthilta in the book was not a smart bunny!
Teehee I could tell you just how it got amputated buuuut naaaah~
Ooh, but you see, she does not, in fact. She has but simple eyes rings in that version. No little curly ends or orange dots~ (The reason it's not fully dyed is because it'd probably be too hard to tediously and carefully die the fur on her eyes all the time. She could apply makeup to it but at the risk of water or something smudging it off she probably would find it best to just pass it off as a simple marking that, while not overly common, hides enough of the royal marking to not raise eyebrows.)

Wait who's Garin's father? If it was said somewhere, I might have missed it.

Ooh, yes! I have mentioned before on how Nelthy got pregnant but don't know if I specified the father xD But he was a Lanive sorcerer named Aldink, which is a creature that looks liiiiike these fellows in the mid-ground here: [link] In the rough drafts of the story Aldink cast a fertility spell on Nelthy, so Garin was not conceived naturally (but this may change in future drafts).
