A reference for Shampoo, 's secondary fursona. Technically I created Shampoo like... 8 years ago or something crazy like that. Pre-deviantART days. And she didn't know what she looked like anymore and frankly neither did I! All the old pictures of her have her markings going all over the place each time. I don't even think I knew what was going on. So I made up this reference for her so the mystery can be solved!When she was first made she was supposed to be a generic "bat". I don't remember exactly what type of bat because that was back when REFERENCES? WHAT REFERENCES? Then somewhere further down the line I wanna say she became a bat/wolf hybrid with a lion's tail because.... ? I think she was supposed to lean more towards a flying fox, which explains her snout shape, but they have too short of ears for Shampoo so it's probably best to avoid giving a specific species base. I justified her species for awhile because The Alfas takes place on one of my alien worlds so she was just "an alien bat". Because I still have no idea now, I'll just call her a "bat creature".
As well her Feral form used to have front legs since her Anthro form has her wings separate from her arms but for the sake of things we decided to make her just have normal bat wings as Feral with the condition that I "find a way to show how a bat would look on all fours." And so I did!

P.S. Nobody probably even remembers The Alfas. I need to remember they exist again.

I also like that you added the bit about how she can only glide in the anthro version, as it would make more sense according to physics, I s'pose? XD

Indeed! xD She probably wouldn't even be able to really glide that far. Maybe just make the fall from a tall building slightly less painful 8D Although in some of my The Alfas she can fly around easily but that was before logic was applied! That or it's just cartoony logic, which is pretty much what Alfas stories are, they can't be serious lol

Oh wow, what an awesome design! I like how you did both the folded and outstretched wing. And the name is like...genius. XD Who came up with it? I really like how you draw anthros, something about the animal head connected with the human body is hard for me to do, but Shampoo looks so natural. C8 I also like how you did both the anthro and feral version, the long snout makes her cuter than a normal bat.

The name origin was pretty amusing actually xD Essentially I asked the char's owner what she wanted her nickname to be. She had been reading a Manga at the time that had a character named Shampoo in it and so she just jokingly said "Shampoo" as temp name but then I forced her to keep it because I'm mean c: She wanted to change it numerous times but NOPE 8D And to this day 8-something years later she is still Shampoo 8D
A lot of people have trouble with that (the animal head on human body thing I mean). I think I've just done it so long I finally found a way to make it work without looking odd. :'V It's just a very weird combination so making it look natural is hard!

Dude no she really does. I found someone at a horse camp one time that was like a carbon copy of Shampoo. So my friend and I named her Conditioner.
