This is another fanart I always wanted to make from Microprose's XCom-1994 . There's at least one more left in my mind, but it's a trickier one for me to do, so we'll see if it ever comes anything out of it.

This is a very personal take on the Interceptor. It not only totally differs from the 2012 remake interpreatation , but I guess it is also quite different from what an average fan would expect that an updated portrayal of the original Interceptor should look.

Here's the original one . Probably a regular update would be to make it look more like current 5th gen jetfighters. But instead I decided to make it look more like "advanced" fighters from back then, and then add here and there some stuff of my own. Basically, a lot comes from the Dassault Rafale.

In part, the reason that in my mind it looks like that, it's because that's in line on how I interpret this menu backround image from the game . It seems to portray an Interceptor, but a different version of it than the one from the UFOPaedia; a less flat, more curvy version of it -however, I never understood what was going on with the wings in that image.

In my version, the wing's shapes not only go after the original Interceptor, but I also used a bit of reference from this version of the F-16, the XL .

Finally, about the UFO: it's based on the "Large Scout" from the original XCom . Wich is probably the one that appears the most during gameplay.
