Description
Final image here! I spent about three days on this, about a day for the sketch (most of which was rolling around on the floor thinking of ideas) and two for painting. All from imagination again, my fav way of working *_*Related content

I'm sorry, but I'm still a noob in these things. But may I ask what software do you use?
I really love your drawings~

I'm not a professional but try lowering the opacity and drawing over them in your color layer until you have a smoothish looking outline that isn't harsh.

Great work.
The only thing I might criticize is the hand with the sword just barely touching the rock in the foreground.

Personally I think stage 4-5 would be enough to tell the story in the most efficient way.

its interesting how different the initial lineart is from the final product. as just lines, the giant angel (?) looks very gentle. in the fully colored and detailed version....it's kinda terrifying in an uncanny valley sorta way.

May I ask why you colored the line art? Excellent tutorial and piece by the way.

i assume its purely to accentuate the difference in subjects, i occasionally do a similar thing where ill sketch the character/focus in a different colour so when it comes to colouring its easier to see whats what

how did you keep the line work from the angel and the woman as you did the background paint?

J-Taurens In reply to twistedmentality [2014-08-14 20:26:01 +0000 UTC]
By having it on a separate layer?

twistedmentality In reply to J-Taurens [2014-08-16 03:50:51 +0000 UTC]
possibly but wouldn't the line work disappear when a new layer is created over it?

J-Taurens In reply to twistedmentality [2014-08-16 11:46:09 +0000 UTC]
Lneart is colored wiith different colors meaning that most likely each color represents a different layer. So that allows some lineart parts to be moved over the painting layer that is the over another lineart.
Also he regulates the linearts with opacity and at some point turns some of the lineart layers off and later bring them back. Basically just to check if the background, other painting layers don't interfere with each other.
