*PLEASE VIEW THE HIGHER RESOLUTION IMAGE*Sorry I haven't posted in a while everyone.
This is Birthday present for: I made titled "A Fly In The Dark". It was requested I include wings in the picture, and the rest was up to my imagination. So the concept of the final picture is that of a superhero type character with pyrokinesis wandering through a scifi scape. I wanted to evoke a sense of wonder of what reason he might have for producing giant wings of fire, and perhaps also make a viewer wonder what could have made such large webs

It's really great! Overall, it's awesome. The only thing that bugs me is the posing of the legs, which kinda takes a little away from the dynamic feel of the wings.

It reminded me of a character called joseph of ciran from a game called summoner i loved as a kid but you've probably never heard of it! just from the first glance.

and forget to say i think my favourite part is infact the environment he is in, love the detail there on the ground, rocks etc.
Just curious, what kind of brushes would did you use? I'll be giving myself the tast of doing some digital painting again soon but it does just fry my head trying to be comfortable with the photoshop brush.

The lighting, the costume, the detail...all of it is beautiful. A great Mage Punk image. The anatomy is also solid, too. The foreshortening on the leg looks a little off---it doesn't taper enough, and the foot we see that should be receded is as large as the foot that is in the foreground, which causes a disconnect. Also, the highlights in the hair could be more muted, which would lessen the "pixelly" look that really only occurs in that area. I love the way you did the fire---it looks distinct yet realistic, and the way it looks like the wings flow from his hands as well as the back gives a compelling and original dimension to the image. The background also adds a lot to the image---it frames him quite well, with the lines that intersect upon him from the wedge things in the background, and the spiderwebs and other things give the piece personality and tone, while setting and developing the scene. The asymmetry of the coat tail on either side of the hips bothers me a little---it seems that unless his coat were made like that, it wouldn't swing that far over based just on how he's walking. There would have to be wind, which would have to be apparent in the other aspects of the drawing, especially the flames. I'm not saying add wind---the piece looks too good as is---but to see the clothing on the other side of his hip would look better in my opinion. I also would like to see the boots in a darker, more opaque red---it looks like we can see his toes a little through the fabric, giving his costume a sort of jumpsuit/pajama feel... the costume is otherwise bad to the bone, though a little monotonous in color---if you varied the intensity and value of the pieces a little bit, it would look more distinct, I think. I do love the way you incorporated blue at the edges of the piece to offset and complement the intensity of the oranges, yellows, and reds in the center---very nice touch, and very clever. Also, blue looks cool on black, almost exclusively, so it's nice for that too. The lighting is great, and the shadows are excellent---you strongly capture the kind of glow that such light would provide. The framing is solid, and the depth is quite nice as well. Overall, very impressive piece---high-quality rendering, and awesome fantasy concept to the art.
