Description
Raptor #7, is based on the Art of Kow Yokoyama of Ma.k/SF3D fame. This was supposed to be an articulated piece, but I couldn't find a suitable figure for a joint donation. So until that donor shows up, he'll be in this stupid position.BTW. This is my third sculpt, and the first fully painted figure.
Medium: Super Sculpey, Tamiya Acrylics

This is just insane. I couldn't tell that it was a first try with airbrush; in fact, my thoughts were far from that. It looks so professional!

Nice! Reminds me of the description of the power armor from Starship Troopers.

Oh you beat me to it! Very, very nicely done, especially so since you used super sculpey. It makes me happy to see more Ma.K. here on DA.
Any idea what scale it is?

Thanks alot, I aim to please all the Ma.k fans running rampant here on DA.I think it's roughly 1/12, though I'm not exactly sure.

Outstanding! What I find most impressive is that it was made from super sculpey. Must have been a bitch to do?
I have a couple of the Ma.k/SF3D kits and this is bang on. They were such cool little models. I always wanted to make a diorama having them along side a German WW2 tank or something. They certainly wouldn't look out place with the designs the way they are. Those Nazi's were working on some weird crazy shit.
Sweet paint job. I like that sooted rusty effect.
I need to get an airbrush...

thanks Jamie.
Yeah, this was actually the result of my frustrated efforts to get a hold of the larger scale kit, which are mostly recasts anyway. I have a few of the SF3D models I used as reference, and I stole some paint ideas from some WW2 photo's. The only reference other than pics I had for a Raptor was a Kubrick figure.

Thanks man, yeah I used like a $20 airbrush with canned air on this, somebody said "You'll either love Airbrushing or hate it". I loved it, and bought an Iwata Pro.

this is really cool. have you ever made things like giant robo or the robot from the iron giant cartoon from a few years ago?

Not yet, though I do plan on more robots/mecha as I move into wax, it's just hard to get those super solid lines in Sculpey. I freakin' love the Iron Giant though, thats a classic in my book.
Oh and thanks,
