I definitely need to make some painted architecture studies, but I'll probably be for another one !

Not that much, but I'm working on it ! I'd love to do more architectural paintings, to paint cities and castles

I really do love Victorian houses. They're so intricate and you captured the silhouette well in this piece. Varying the width and shading definitely helps make the house itself feel more 3D.  I look forward to future pieces featuring more architectural work from you.

Thank you very much ! I've bought an awesome book on perspective while in the process of doing this study and I can't wait to try all the techniques it explains
But I also want to do more refined landscapes, to finish my current painting, to strengthen my knowledge of anatomy... I think I'll soon have to fix priorities, there are just so many things I want to do !

Sounds exciting! I look forward to a barrage of landscapes and architecture from you! You can never do yourself wrong going back to the fundamentals and refining what you know.

I won't be able to paint a lot in the next couple of months as I need to move from one country to the other, but after that I'll be more productive than ever

With a perspective grid and patience Houses are rather "blocky" so they're really good to practice perspective I think, way easier than complete landscapes or vehicles design

Do you use any special programs, or grid overlays to help with the perspective, angles or making sure the lines are straight? Yes, I can see were it would be easier... landscapes are very difficult.

I've started this one by drawing a tight grid, so that whenever I had to draw a line, it would fall rather closely between two lines of the grid, allowing me to know how to orientate it (does that make sense ? ). I've also used the ruler/straight line tool of my program to draw the longer lines, they would have been way sloppier otherwise

Ooh, I'd like to live there
Great work - I have always found perspective and architectural drawings to be extremely difficult and time consuming, so I'm super impressed by this!  The lines are so perfect~

I love those kind of houses so much ! Sadly I have never seen one in France é_è
I spent a lot of time polishing my lines indeed; I tried to add a little bit of weight, varying the colour and the width in function of the depth and importance of the line, but I think I still have a long road ahead

I love them too - my husband and I both love Victorian houses
I can tell the line-work must've taken forever!  The variations add so much.

That's a really nice study, the perspective on the left seems just a tiny bit off to me, but I might be wrong. I should do more of these studies as well, but I just don't have enough patience. I love the lines and how clean it all looks. Well done.

I'll have to find a way to make it quicker or I won't have enough patience to do another either ^^
Thank you very much for taking on your time to make those detailed comments !
