Description 3/4 view of Camarillo Ranch House wit its wrap-around porch. Β

Originally, Camarillo Ranch was an approximately 10,000 acre Mexican land grant created in 1837, patented to Gabriel Ruiz in 1866, then purchased by Juan Camarillo in 1875. His son Adolfo built the Queen Anne Victorian home in 1892. Later the barn and stables were added to support the agricultural work and house the renowned Camarillo White Horses.

Today the Camarillo Ranch is owned by the City of Camarillo (in Southern California) and operated by the non-profit organization, the Camarillo Ranch Foundation. The 1892 Queen Anne Victorian style Camarillo Ranch House operates as a House Museum, which features rotating exhibits. Wow, great looking house. You had to be pretty rich to afford it, right?

Yes I believe you had to be financially well off to afford a house like this one. Even when it was originally built in the late 1800s it was still expensive for the time.

AS stupid European it looks like rich farmer villa in southern US, where it is. Btw. what is the purpose of 2 towers, one for stairhouse is enough?

That is a good question, I am not sure. Usually this type of architecture (Queen Anne Victorian structures) don't have more than one tower.

If there are luxary 2 stairhouses, one upwards and the other downwards? Or one is an elevator.

There are 2 sets of staircases in this house -- the main staircase at the front of the house, and a back staircase for the children and staff (no elevators.)
