Sketches from Diana Wynne Jones' Deep Secret. Maree and Nick both came out well, but Rupert always gives me a hard time because I know exactly how he ought to look, but I can never seem to get him on paper. Andrew looks suitably silly and distracted (and also kind of sexy) but also a bit too young.Ah well. I will eventually work up to a full illustration from this fantastic novel, just not today.

Amazing! Nick and Maree are just perfect like that - especially Nick. I suppose Rupert would be hard to draw, wouldn't he? I mean, I'd find it hard to decide between the "prat" and the "distressed magid". And it would be terrifically difficult to get him perfect. Andrew looks good, too. You begin to see why everyone fell for him
