Everyone keeps commenting that Elsa heard the sword being drawn, but because her parents and sister were already gone, she *wanted* to die, and so did nothing about it.
It's kinda hard to argue that since the sheer agony in her expression in this photo kinda proves their point. This whole story is so deep, like, omg... It's *Disney* yet it hits you right in the sensitive part of The Feels.

No point for Elsa to live after what Hans told her. So its only natural.

Anna heard it from far away. Of course Elsa would hear it from right next to her.

mm, still... I think Elsa was just as able to hear Hans draw his sword as Anna (who was much further away). Elsa -wanted- to die at that point because she was in an agony of guilt. As for the spectators in the distance, I don't think they were close enough to be heard even if they hadn't been standing there is shock at the sudden end of the storm.

maybe the "hans cutting elsa's head" scene takes place on a frozen see outside arrendelle...? also, I don't know about you though, but if i were an arrendelle citizen, i'd rather stay in my house, keeping me away from dying of cold instead of wandering around outside the kingdom just to know what's going on with the queen...
and also, even if there were someone in that scene, I don't think they would bother to tell elsa, since people thought she was a monster and deserved to die because she froze the whole country...
