I have had my fair share of starting planets with poision. Like, almost every time. And occasionally tough monster. But. I still remember my first Floran: I beamed down right on top of a bandit tent. I got away and managed to kill three of the four bandits though, and later got the last one and a checkpoint. But then I found out that a rare monster was RIGHT NEXT TO MY HOUSE, AND MORE BANDITS. In fact, Bandits covered just about the whole planet. Then there was the Floran village. Made the UFO easier since the guards killed all the minions and I found a safe spot where the UFO could not reach me, the guards couldn't see me, and I could shoot the UFO.

My starter planet made my house set on fire, and the next planet I went to did the same thing!

Beautiful image!! I love the glowing presence of the poison and the ominous glow of the monster's eyes behind her. The first night is always the scariest, and you never know what to expect. I love the angle of this image too - it's very dynamic; you have improved so much over the years and I love watching that process. You will continue to improve as well, because it's so apparent that art is such a passion for you. It's very inspiring and wonderful! ; u ;Β
I love Starbound! I made an Avian as well - I got very lucky that my start planet was beautiful - a snowy-forest that rains (fresh water) very frequently, has many gentle/neutral beasts, and happened to already be home to a very large atheist Avian town. It just gets a bit cold at night, but I'm now very well equipped to handle the cold. Very lucky!Β
I made a Floran boy as well, and his start planet was not so lucky - very, very, hostile. Β . o .

Thank you very much! It's always great to hear about you! c":Β
Playing with angles is a little bit hard for me if I don't make a sketch with the perspective and such, I still have a long way to go. Oh yeah, several years have passed v.v Β I truly thought that my art would be better than it is right now, I guess that my surroundings keep stressing me- So I can't give into art all my 100%.
Also you're the very first one that comments about the monster behind her, that's just how my very first avian female died, surrounded by poison and mauled by a boss, what a great night to remember. When I discovered Starbound- My mind said- I.need.it. Β It's like a broad, galactic terraria with more tools and amazing features, every new planet surprises me. Β After my first night, my first death, I found an avian pirate ship and I stuck around that same area, collecting materials, now that same ship is my home.
Ahaha! I created a female floran (Called Valvanera) and her start planet was pretty nice, mostly depleted of minerals but very welcoming and calm, the only problem was ACID RAIN D: !

Tip: small poison water and magma can be snuffed out by placing harmless dirt blocks where the pools are, and you can mine other environmental hazards away.
You might've already twigged on this but if you're just starting out I felt like I should mention.

You can also mine out the back ground to drain it, if it is a larger pool.

Ouch. Having poison water on your starter planet sucks. :I
About the actual picture itself, it looks beautiful. Awesome job!

Yeah... it was kinda fail but now that I'm really protected in the game, poison water is just not a concern anymore. Β Thank you very mucho!
