Description
Still keeping my alien species coming. I call this species the Portigoul (por-ti-goal). They are an amphibious species native to a high gravity water world (I'm thinking Kepler-22b). Their anatomy bears resemblance to those of flatworms and cephalopods with a long, muscular, 3m body with paddles on either side for swimming through water and shuffling on land. They also possess six tentacles that extend roughly a meter out and end in two finger-like manipulators. the undersides of their tentacles also have two rows of suction cups that, like earth cephalopods, can help grip onto objects and gather information about them. Portigouls are hermaphroditic and as communities lay eggs and fertilize them. Their sperm cells are drawn to the chemical signatures of eggs with the most genetic differentiation to avoid self fertilization and genetic stagnation. As a species the Portigoul have very little interest in conflict but a strong passion for learning and sharing knowledge. Though they were bound to their home world due to limited dry land and high gravity, they were recognized by other species for their high intelligence and are now leaders in technological development.Related content
