Description
Here’s a new alien design for everyone. I call it the Sahajeevan and it’s a subversion of the parasite and host concept often seen in science fiction. Neither the winged parasite and the tripod host possess human level sapience on their own, having intelligence comparable to cephalopods and elephants respectively. True sapience is achieved when the parasite uses neuron packed tendrils to link with the host’s brain creating a two way feedback that acts as one brain. This initially started as hijacking where the parasite would hijack the much larger host for protection against predators and ensure the survival of their own offspring. Minus some blood feeding, the host reminded unharmed. Over generations, this relationship evolved to become more mutually beneficial. Along with combined intelligence, the Sahajeevan has superior eyesight from the parasite and superior sense of smell, large size, and manipulating tendrils from the host. The host’s themselves even evolved notched in their heads for the parasites to insert themselves in. The Sahajeevan timed the reproduction of their parasite and host components to occur simultaneously so the offspring and grown together then bond into new Sahajeevan when old enough. As always comments and critiques are welcome.
