Hee! Yes, I totally agree with you. I can't even imagine the kind of pressure he must have felt at one point or another during filming but he totally pulled it off. Spock was my favourite character in the original series so I was very anxious to see Zachary's performance and he certainly did not disappoint.

Thank you so much! I really like the fact that you mentioned the brush stroke. I prefer not to do my paintings too realistic so that the strokes are still really visible because then it looks more like... well, a painting instead of a photo, you know?

Spock is LUV! He's always been my favourite character in TOS, although now Kirk is just so friggin' sexy, he just might give Spock a run for his money! LOL! And my favourite actor is playing McCoy now... I'm just all over the place!!!

Oh god I went to see it again last night (someone help meeeee) and I still laughed and cried as hard as when I first saw it T_T But yeah I got a big thing for Spock, and Kirk is not too far behind!
The TOS is hilarrrrrrrious!! But some awfully touching bits aswell. I want to make a statue in honour of the shit props though -
"you need an exotic plant?? Well here you go, put some of these frills on a pink marigold glove, shove your hand in this tube and hey presto! Alien plant thing!!"

LOL! I'm planning on going to see the movie again soon as well. Isn't the whole opening scene on the Kelvin totally heart-wrenching?! How can a kid born under such dire circumstances not be destined for greatness?
TOS is just full of lovely cheesiness and that's what makes it so charming. But did you know they had practically no budget to film that show? Hence the foam rubber plants and all.

I can say with absolute honesty that I have cried at the opening every time I saw it. It's just her expression and the swelling music T_T I'm a blubbering mess before the film even starts! haha But you're right the funny bits aren't far off! (omg ....hands?? XDDD )
Much love for George Kirk!! And I think I'm getting a bit of OlderManSyndrome with Captain Pike (he looks really dashing in his uniform in the last scene :333 ).
My dream is to one day, paint all the men of Trek from the film in one glorious painting!! ARGHH why can't it be the summer hols now???
And the rope and pully system really doesn't surprise me!! God I'm such a weirdo, I want to see it again. I have never been like this with a film before. But everytime I stop and think about it I start pining! lol xx

George Kirk is just absolutely gorgeous... It's easy to imagine that his child would end up looking like Chris Pine. 
A painting of all the Trek men from the movie would be glorious indeed! That's a fantastic idea and I really hope you'll do it.
