Description
I'm drawing a series of pictures based on the 7 dead sins, 13 in total. All these sins are from a video game called Actraiser 2 for SNES. I'll be studying their character design and details of the level you find these sins on to try and find all the metaphors and symbolism they made.Sloth 1: Sloth

This demon is sin of PRIDE. In the game, the humans (ironically from the town Humbleton) built a large tower to reach the heavens, called the "Tower of Souls," to prove that they can become gods themselves. This heavily references the Tower of Babel in the Bible. These same humans also try to show off their power and intelligence by making many machines throughout the tower and made the demon itself too as their idol to symbolize their advancement. It has many worldly objects, created by man, circling him to attack you with, like missiles, bombs, arrows, and a clock (to stop time).
There are two types of pride, a good kind and bad kind. The good kind is where a person is proud of the work they've done, no matter how small, but the bad kind of pride is where people think they are too good to do their normal jobs, so they refuse to do the work. Pride is tricking these people into thinking they are better than they are, making them think they're worthy of being gods. This represents how one thinks they're worthy of achieving power or do a certain task, only to fail because they cannot handle the responsibilities.
The opposite of Pride is the heavenly virture Humility.

It's a shame these don't have more attention because you clearly put a lot of effort and time into them, but in drawing and in analysis.

Thank you very much. It's nice to hear someone appreciates the effort I put into it. It makes it feel worth the effort. And I promise I will finish all the sins. It's just my life is very busy, between work and home and things like that, but I will make time for this thing where I can.
