This is my pet, she's a 6 years old Boa Constrictor Imperator and her name is Bacon
It's really hard to take photos of her because she's moving all the time, but this is far the best I have and I thought it's worth sharing. She's about 170 cm/ 5.57 feet long and she's very friendly and playful, I hope you like her

So you like writing? I like making up stuff too, but I usually express myself in visual art. I love reading as well, what kind of species do you think of?
I know, it's normal for the place I'm coming from, they say they "love" animals but what they mean is they only like the cute animals and the others, like my snake, that eat bunnies sound like an abomination to them. I'd wish they could learn how every animal has a purpose in Nature and they have a deeper meaning more than just the pleasant looks.

Yes, I enjoy my creative writing very much, even if I don't post it on my DA very often.
I've been doing it since around 2011, but I seriously began pursuing it in 2015. I mainly write fantasy, and I have a book series in development featuring mythological creatures as the main characters. Gryphons are what I think of most, but there are also dragons and snakes. For the snakes, the "Anderthon" is my original species which are friendly creatures, and one of them is the best friend (I wouldn't say pet) of a major supporting character.
I think that's rather ignorant and biased coming from those people. Snakes can be cute as well, as Bacon is, but it's also important to know that they play a vital part in the world's ecosystems. Without snakes, the environments they would have lived in will go awry, and those people won't realise it until it's all too late. Not only that, but nowadays I try to avoid anything that portrays snakes (or any reptiles for that matter) in a negative fashion/teaches people to be afraid of them.
Aside from that, I didn't know people could have Boas as pets in the UK!

I love mythological creatures, especially dragons and gryphons, I actually designed some cute gryphons for my school projects, but I'm gonna post them later
I know what you mean, I'mΒ glad you understand my point. I think people feel disgusted by certain animals because they are our natural enemies, but if you think about it, you don't have to hate them, it's good to understand that the role of every animal is important. for example I love tigers, i know if I met one i could get killed, but that's not a "murder" let's say, it's how Life works. I get so angry when some of my relatives who live in village say that they kill snakes, they have problems repelling rats and then they kill the animals that come there to help, they don't understand that rats will keep multiplying if you keep killing their natural predators just because you consider them ugly.
