Description
Follow me on Instagram @ivanalifanI was practicing how to paint using a mother colour pallet which was grey and purple that was added to every colour and avoiding using pure colours from the tube. I was trying to imitate this photographic muted light quality that I saw in old Polaroids.
Oil on Canvas 30" by 24"

Wow, the lighting is very enchanting and the muted colors give this painting a mood. The brushwork is equally as clever, because it makes the fabric and flowers delicate and fragile.

That is gorgeous! A lot of people don't understand that you need to get the perfect color for skin and you have to practice so much until you can do this perfectly. This is AMAZING!
The picture in of itself is spectacular. I particularly like the fact that she is looking away. It gives her an almost shy or modest feel. Or that she's ashamed of something, just she is facing part of the darkness. It really is beautiful though. And those sleeves! How did you do that? Gorgeous.

I believe it was Shklovsky who said: "Art is nothing more than an artful way of depicting an object. The object itself is not important". The way you turned the common into the mysterious! It feels like a deep, forgotten memory of childhood. I do admire artists that consider themselves to be craftsmen and are able to promote and sell their art- but this one? There is no price for it.
