Description Umbrella's will vary

This is a very small wing!  It ended up being 8 inches tall when folded up, and outstretched is 13 inches across.

Materials for Frame

The average umbrella

Hammer

2 pairs of Needle nosed pliers

Drill and bit (optional)

Wire cutters

A nail


Materials for Fabric

Fabric

Needle

Thread

Glue (preferably super/crazy glue)

Box

Scissors

Thank you.  The ones I made are only 14 inches long.   Perhaps there is a large patio umbrella that works the same that you could use.

Very nice. Hammering the B wire cuts into rivets, that is, mushrooming the ends, would make for nice hinge joints. So would using a metal file/dremel to de-blur the edges on any cut point.

Mushrooming the ends would make much better joints, I agree, but I could think of a way to do that.  Very small screws and nuts would be even better.

I might try. I've made dragon models before, but no moving ones.  I made them so that I could better understand how the fabric would behave for drawing purposes; and I just like playing with it. XD
