Description
The head and tail probably could have been more realistic, but I tried so many different versions that now none of them look right, but I'm happy with this one. Anyhow, this is not meant to be a realistic run cycle, but more of a playful lope that you would never actually see.Related content

I have never tried to animate a dog, so I may be wrong, but I think that the problem with the tail is that it is to stiff. It mostly bends at the middle, like a plank, instead of moving like a... wave, or whip? I am unsure how to explain. I think you want the highest point to sort of roll from the base of the tail to the tip.
Also, you might want the base of the tail to be a bit thinner. Maybe.
Once again, this is just my uneducated guess, so I could be wrong.
Other than that, it looks really great. Good job. ^^

I know exactly what you mean. I know what the tail should do, but no matter how many times I try I just can't seem to get it to do it. DX I'll certainly be trying again.
Thank you!

To me it looks like the head/neck should move more, to give it a bit more natural flow. The tail is a bit awkward looking, yes, I think it might look better if it.. Bent more? xD

I going to try a whole different head movement to see what that's like. This seems to be the most commented on. XD Yeah, I think it just needs to bend more in the middle and I think the tip is flicking at the wrong time.
Thanks!

Thanks! I made the changes and updated the animation if you had any further input.

I feel like the head and neck are too stiff, perhaps you could loosen the joints up a bit to give it a more natural movement.

I think you have the movement of the legs right but because there is very little movement in the spine or head it sort of looks more like a horse galloping rather than a canine running. If you take a look as this image here (sillydragon.com/muybridge/Plat… you'll see that the curve of the spine is very apparent and that is some sections it actually curves higher than the head. Also when a canine bounds forwards it drives it's nose forwards and this movement is usually a split second before the body itself moves. This gif here is a good example of what I mean: fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/201…

I wan't sure what the head would do because it was a loping canter of some kind, and I can't say I've ever seen a dog canter. XD I'll try the head thrusting forward to see what it looks like, but I didn't think it would do that because its such a gentle run. I'll try changing the spine too. I'm now noticing the middle section might be too short as well...
Thank you for your suggestions.

They would move like any dog or wolf. Do you mean the head should move that way?

Thanks! I'll try a few move head movements to see what looks better.
