Original VersionI knew I would be revisiting this piece to relight it ever since I released it back at the beginning of February, but I wanted to wait until I acquired more skill and had a better developed eye because I didn't know what to look for or how to adjust it even if I did.
I'm significantly happier with how this piece came out vs the old one. The original wasn't bad, it just didn't speak to me the way I wanted it to. I guess this is a 6-month progress piece as well, so that's cool. 4 if you subtract my 2-month break April and May.
Sure, the posing, expression, scene and composition are not great but this piece had always been about lighting for me, even back then. After all, the description in the original did say that I was trying my hand at lighting a night scene. Everything else was secondary to it.
I'm happy with how it turned out and am glad I can put this piece to rest in my mind now.
