Description So I had a dream a few nights back that I was at some bar or cabaret or something and Nyo was sitting on a stool on stage, alone, in this outfit with an acoustic guitar in hand and singing this song here ; a stool next to her with a glass of whiskey.  She took a drink, set it back down, said a few words then looked at me and winking before starting.  It sent a chill down my spine.  The rest of the place was dark and watching intently and ADS04 was there with me, funny enough.  I really wish I could animate because I would've loved to share that visual.  It was amazing.

I spent the last couple of days toying around more with my skin shaders, multiple bump maps and physical light shaders to get it more to a point that I liked.  These past few renders, I feel like I've hit a bit of a plateau in terms of image quality.  It was inevitable but disappointing to say the least to me.  I really took my time on this one, really just tweaking the shit out of the skin shaders and making separate bump maps for her hair circles/clips, her lips to give them more texture and a separate map for the hair spec.  Looking back, I think the effect might've been too strong on the lips but I didn't want to re-render the image just to fix that one problem.  Naturally, my hair problems continue.  I just can't fix it for now.  If someone can point me in the right direction...and don't say 'delete the duplicates'.  I've already done that.

Thanks!  I'm glad you think so!  

And you know, I appreciate the interest in a tut and I thought about writing tuts but the problem is that I'm only one of two people (that I'm aware of) to regularly release content using Maya in the XNALara rendering community here on DA.  And any advice I have would be specific to Maya so unless you use Maya, I don't really have any advice I could give that hasn't already been covered my someone else.  Everyone else uses Blender, 3DS Max or Keyshot and there's a breadth of tuts already on here on using them so if you're just getting started, I'd recommend using one of those three.  And considering the other person (KSE25) has been using Maya much longer than I have...well, there's just no audience for it to be worthwhile for me to take the time and effort creating one.  All of the other 'general knowledge' tuts have already been covered ad nauseam.

I know that.  I didn't want to have to rematch the patch with the original.  Besides, I wasn't that unhappy with the result.  If I was, I definitely would've fixed it before releasing.

Yes, but I didn't use her provided texture.  I pulled a higher res stock image from Google then created it from that.  The original texture was too low res.

That was worded really weird.  You've never heard of high res face textures?  Like, faces can only be mid or low res?  Maybe that's not what you meant but the way it was worded sounds like you had no clue that a texture can be as high or low res as the creator of it wants it to be.

As for where to get them, not really.  I just pull stock from Google or something.  If I have to re-UV the thing, then that makes it even worse so I usually just try to match the position of the original so I don't have to UV it.

Nope, it wasn't.  But if I ever found higher res textures for them, I wouldn't stop ranting and raving about it.
