Description
I walked through the halls of my best friends apartment, making my way back to his living room.

In a matter of seconds I felt the floor beneath me start shaking. It didn't last long; a few seconds at best, but it was enough to send me onto the floor and cause the power to go out.

"Dirk! Are you there?" I shouted.

"____, it's okay, I'm right here." He mumbled, clearly trying to find his way towards me in the dark. I did the same, groping around until I felt his shirt sleeve in between my fingers. I searched for his hand and gripped onto it tightly when I found it.

"Don't worry, we'll be fine. I'll turn the news on once we get power back." He pulled my face into his chest and held me close.

I would always be safe with this boy around.
