I mean, obviously there are certain things lacking in kiddie shows that those of us who are older might want... *coughactualpairingscough* ..but I don't complain, because it's clean and sweet and entertaining!

Just because there's no canonical pairings doesn't mean moments don't exist. Heck, Jim Henson thrived on stuff like that when he was alive (ex: the "fights" of leadership between Red & Gobo definately hinted at something between those two in Fraggle Rock [ [link] ]...which is making a film comeback, by the way]) and since he was a big part of PBS's core group originally (helped create Sesame Street for pete's sake), I noticed that a lot of his vision has seeped into other programs, even if they aren't a part of his company. In fact, since Reading Rainbow is hardly around and Mr. Rogers already departed, the only four shows to help sustain PBS's long-term success--in my opinion--are Sesame Street, Cyberchase (Matt/Inez is one of my favorite understated pairs on that show, even though math is my most dreaded subject), and Word Girl (although many WG fans like Becky/Tobey, I prefer Becky/"Scoops" as a sort of reversed Superman/Lois Lane type of relationship).
