Part 9 of my 2018 Movie reviews

Well when I went to go see the Predator, I was expecting it to finally be a good predator sequel because it was directed by Shane Black who in fact played a character in the very first film yet he made this one into another disappointment, Shane should've known how a great predator movie is made, I'm guessing he was on Drugs when he made this film. (This is just a Joke BTW)

Now, the opening may have been rushed but it was pretty neat. It was almost like the opening for venom. The new predator ships in space battle was a nice thing to see in the franchise because this has never happened before, not even the non canon things like comics maybe.

Fugitive predator is one of my personal favorite predators. Despite bearing a similar appearance to jungle hunter, his eyes were really weird. It was almost like they don't fit in his sockets and move around like snail eyes. As for his mask, there have been plenty of them throughout the continuity of the franchise and some look pretty similar. I Liked the current one he wears, it fits him but Ultimate Predator came in and killed him easily and not fairly just like how Berserker killed Crucified in Predators (2010).

As for Ultimate predator, He was pretty naked, not even wearing any armor instead having an exoskeleton which I didn't like. But Damm, He took everything the Human characters threw at him. Fire, Grenades, bullets to the head, and still fights even after having his arm cut off. As for his plan to steal humans in order to retrieve human DNA to make them more genetically advanced is a bit of a downside for the plot but I guess it's so they can be much better hunters. I love the new Predator dogs, they looked like actual alien dogs and are quite cute, the ones in Predators (2010) looked stupid and more like boars.

I was expecting a Female Predator to appear but Shane Black confirmed there wouldn't be one which made me hate him even more and I didn't want any Xenomorph references but GODDAMMIT!, They showed the Shuriken, Alien spear, and Scar's mask From Alien VS Predator (I Hate Those Movies especially Requiem!). That means that maybe the two franchises are connected, but I doubt that. They were probably doing that just for fun for the fans.

The human cast are both likable and unlikable, I do like Quinn McKenna, He risked his whole life to save his son from a dangerous bounty hunter which is something fathers will do. Rory is so unlikable because he barely shows any emotion, I know he has autism but he still is just so damm calm all the time even when there's a predator in front of his face. his acting is terrible too by the way. While Olivia Munn may be beautiful she is another unlikable character because Who's idea was it to make a Biologist who doesn't have any military experience so damm good at handling guns, it makes NO sense and her beautiful motherf*#ker line was just lame. Will Traeger was too boring and had bit of a cheesy attitude. As for the marine prisoners, I really like them, They are much better supporting characters than the ones in Predators (2010) and I actually laughed at a few of their jokes. it was a bit sad to see them die at the actions of Ultimate Predator.

The Action in this film was crazy and it had the most kills in the franchise. the fights made me feel like i'm watching a normal movie but the way Fugitive and Ultimate kills was absolutely amazing!! I loved every bit of it especially when they bit random people but the moments went too fast. The only unrealistic bit was the one where a Ultimate shoots his blade and somehow that launches a random guy in the air. It was so unrealistic and went against physics that I couldn't take that scene seriously. Quinn and Ultimate once again do the What The Hell Are You Scene but he replies with shut the f**k up which was kind of a nice touch.

As for the ending, they made a transformers Predator killing suit that works like a symbiote and it is absolutely stupid. It feels nothing like something out of a predator movie, It looks like we won't be getting a predator 5. I don't want a shredder/predator hybrid mech suit thing. Predators are meant to hunt and kill, Not make a stupidass suit that can wipe out their entire species. Thanks A-lot Shane Black, You have ruined this entire franchise!. I really wish Arnold made a cameo in that ending, it would've been so much better.

Still the rest of the film made me satisfied enough for me to like it but it's not one of my favorite 2018 films. 5.0/10
