Description
Commission for of Matt Dennion's saurian monster, Atomic Rex!It was really surreal putting those big arms on what is essentially a tyrannosaur. But that's what makes monsters really cool, they break those preconceived molds. And I dunno why, but I love how his jawline turned out. Something about drawing/inking that was kinda neat.

Funny you say that because in the second Atomic Rex book Wrath of the Polar Yeti he does fight and indeed does kill a giant Yeti kaiju named Yetaiju that has cryokinetic abilities.Β

I've shared this with Matt Dennion and Matt Frank, they both loved it. I have started sharing this around Facebook in most of the kaiju groups I'm part of.Β

Most impressive. I do like Rexes with some real arms to them. : )

Although I feel T-Rex monsters are overabundant (though I can't blame anyone, T-Rexes are cool), I do enjoy some of the minor touches with this one. The longer arms, the human-like ear... interesting design choices. They're small, but they're there.

The ear wasn't intentional, but it works, now that you mention it. I do have a penchant for monsters with human-like features; it's a reflection of who (usually) makes the monsters.

I can see where you're coming from on that. It gives them a more human-like quality in the event it isn't the eyes.
