Zilla dos not make any sense officially Zilla is considered an "asexual male," which doesn't make sense. i remember reading multiple times that Dean Devlin said Zilla was a male that had the ability to reproduce asexually. Toho says the same thing as well, since they maintain that all incarnations of Godzilla are male, and Zilla was created as an incarnation of Godzilla. Zilla must at the very least have female reproductive characteristics, but officially he is a male monster.Only POSSIBLE explanation [theory]: Zilla WAS a male, but since there were no females, he changed gender and then layed the eggs [asexually, on top of it all] and then changed back to a boy just so he can be called 'KING.' The only bad thing about it is that Zilla's offspring were all sterile, meaning that that is a terrible thing to do (and makes no sense because if it reproduced asexually, it would mean its children would be exact clones, and therefore WOULD be able to reproduce like Zilla) and a terrible evolutionary thing, but I guess evolution would have nothing to do with that since the Zilla species was just a few iguanas that instead of dying from cancer grew to 60 meters tall in a couple of decades.
The way I see it Theory 2 :, Zilla was born male, but no mates existed at all. So, due to his heavily-irradiated and rapidly-evolving genes, he spontaneously developed female reproductive characteristics (since Patrick Tatapoulos confirmed Zilla has female genitalia) and fertilized his eggs with his already existing male sexual characteristics.
Zilla I assume is like the evolution of an entire species over millions of years in one individual. Zilla produced hundreds of eggs so that there would be a breeding population of Zillas, consisting of both male and female members. Because Zilla evolves and his genes mutate so rapidly, his children were not all clones of him, but genetically different creatures due to rapid embryonic mutation or some other scientifically-impossible process. Since Zilla's offspring would be expected to breed with each other (incestuous, I know, but not rare in nature), Zilla Junior was simply a male member of the species. Since all of his siblings were killed, Zilla Junior had no females to mate with and was sterile.
See, this is what it all boils down to: "Zilla is realistic"
also a creature that size could not exist in any way if its only eating fish

also the proportions of zilla are wrong no Lizard would look like a DINOSAUR!!!!! it also could not jump or climb buildings. Zilla also has the head of a LEGUAN on the bod of a THEROPOD is so wrong and can not exist in nature.
i love Zilla he was my first Kaiju that intodruced me in the Godzilla series but he is not Godzilla he is his own cool bad-ass thing that deserves more love. also Zilla is not more realistic than Big-G , if you truly want a more realistic Godzilla 2014 has it for you

The funny part about this rivalry? Godzilla settled it in Final Wars by using his atomic fire and blasting him into Sydney's iconic landmark (I always forge the name of the landmark).

They are about the same size in height. Zilla is frail, but speedy enough to give Godzilla some trouble. The atomic breath from Godzilla would easily kill him. Really, Zilla is comparable to Anguirus against Godzilla. In the second movie, Godzilla did succeed in killing Anguirus with the atomic breath after a melee battle. I would predict similar results for this fight. And Final Wars Godzilla is bigger than average.

You make a good point about size HOWEVER, you must remember that Final Wars Godzilla is the Godzilla that was teleported into the future because of the people in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah. He was naturally mutated, thus being the larger, more aggressive Godzilla. But the original Godzilla wouldn't have a problem with Zilla, as said before, he is fragile and not very smart. Zilla is all brawn, Godzilla is capable of planning for the future and can outsmart him. Therefore, Godzilla, no matter what form or appearance, would still beat Zilla.

"Zilla is all brawn" The 1998 Godzilla was killed by missiles, and has not displayed any real physical strength, so how is he all brawns? It's Godzilla that's all brawns - that kaiju has incredible strength, one such example being Godzilla: The Game, where he can pick up other Toho Kaiju(almost all of whom weigh several tens-of-thousands of tons, including other incarnations of himself) with utter ease and throwing them.
"Godzilla is capable of planning for the future and can outsmart him" The Japanese Godzilla's intellect seems almost plot-driven. From what I've seen he does no real thinking and just likes to spam atomic breath and destroy stuff. I'm sure he has done some smart planning and such, but I have not seen it directly.
The 1998 Godzilla also outsmarted the military in his movie, and I have not seen the Japanese Godzilla do the same(against the military - he might've out-smarted other kaijus though).
Plus there is this trend where something with high speed should be relatively fragile - 1998 Godzilla was built on the vague instructions on being really fast, and was killed so easily for the sake of the movie (I don't think they were going for something like nuking the creature to kill it so a few jets have to do).
I should mention, the 1998 Godzilla, IS Godzilla by trademarks that are still relevant - any FURTHER incarnations(excluding Godzilla: The Series) of the 1998 Godzilla are dubbed "Zilla"(and as evidenced in Godzilla: Final Wars, made this new "Zilla" larger, more aggressive, and quite stupid with no foresight. The 1998-Godzilla, judging from its behavior, would probably have done the smart thing and ran away instead of getting one-shot by Japanese Godzilla. Unlike the Japanese Godzilla, the 1998 Godzilla has survival(as evidenced by its animalistic behavior and how it fled from the military when they attacked it) in mind, and not destruction/heroism, so I doubt it would enter any real fight with the King of Monsters)
So yeah, brains beats brawns - 1998-Godzilla outsmarts and escapes the Japanese Godzilla - fight over.
In a REAL fight, the Japanese Godzilla would probably roflstomp the 1998 Godzilla, as that beast battles kaijus every week (or so) and is just too strong to be challenged by any incarnation of the 1998 Godzilla(this includes good old Zilla whom went velociraptor on Japanese Godzilla unsuccessfully)

Not really. They piled on some really random stuff for Godzilla. Canonically? Godzilla cannot fly, judo kick, or do any of the silly stuff they had him do in the "simulation". Also they are biased so I'm almost certain that they lowered the odds of Gamera just so Godzilla could win.
