I might need to explain a few things here.

1. Yes, the drawing from 1998 is the oldest Godzilla drawing I have in my entire collection, and it has survived all these years. And it was intended to be the Heisei-era Godzilla (hence why 2013 and 2017 are).

2. Why "Old Kind of Godzilla"? Because that was all 7-year-old me could come up with to differentiate the classic Japanese Godzilla from the [then] new American Godzilla.

3. In 2013, I decided to pay homage to it to show how far I had come in 15 years. I then started taking the two to conventions. While adults and fellow artists find it adorable, those interested in taking up art (especially young kids) would see them and see that the craft is not developed overnight, and they are more optimistic about going through with it themselves. My advice is to follow the Three P's - Patience, Practice, and Persistence. That's why the 2013 version, let alone 1998, isn't the top of my game anymore.

4. When I first got my booth at Konsplosion set up, I looked at the pair of drawings and had the overwhelming urge to acknowledge the passage of time once again. I’m honestly pretty happy with myself, too.
