I have had tons of people ask me how I did the clouds on my Urban Planet tutorial [link] . SO I wrote a tutorial for you guys. This is 1 out of a series of planet detailing tutorials so "stay tuned"I hope this is usefull.

you should totaly make a tut on how to create mountains because that is waht i need to make any of my planets look good ad real before i put any on DA.

Very nice.
A funny thing for people who want to make their own clouds:
If you look at the very top one of the Earth's clouds, you can vaguely make out the Continents (well, except Antarctica, which is all white for some reason). They're the blackest areas, most devoid of clouds.

That's because there's less water to evaporate and condense into clouds over land. Also, the shape of the land affects airflow, which in turn affects clouds.

Most of the time, this is true. The rest of the time, you can blame the damn Gulf of Mexico or the Carribean. Damn hurricanes. xD

Great tutorials! I haven't tried much space art, and have always wondered how on earth people put planets together that looked like they have real terrain and clouds and such. It's really helpful to see the basics.

Its a Nasa one. I think it is from Terra MODIS
