Description I finally got my paws on 3d, this is my very first 3D mecha i modelled from 3D studio max. I haven't insert the bone structure yet. nor i have learn any 3D animation yet, so much to learn. for the mech design i'm really not sure what to called it, heavy gear and armored core hybrid, what the hack! this is only for fun. In the future u will be able to see alphaleo in 3d. enjoy and stay tune.

that's a good model, wish i could do something like that in 3d max, but i've always been a bigger fan of blender tho

Its not as crappy as you say it to be, Alpha. Its actually a rather well done go at inorganic modelling. And besides, coming from a 3D Modeller and Animator, no one really ever likes the first model they build I abhor the one character I created in class. Its disgusting, too many vertical edge loops >.>;

Just keep practicing and you'll be doing Armored Cores in no time ^_^

Quite well, of course it needs texturing.

Some people also find it usefull to use numerical programms like Povray. In it you can easily do repeating structures like vents. On the other paw it's numerically, so no GUI.

seriously - that thing rocks

and that was the first time you ever used the program? do you have any previous experience in using that kinda programs or was it all just touch&go?

nope, i'm an tota idiot when i was doing this, no 3D background at all, my art director took some time off and tought me a some minor basic on 3D max, just one to two tricks only, i was originally playing around with only mecha head then the next thing i know i did the entire mech.

I thought it was cool anyway .

Looking forward to seeing Alphaeleo in 3D!
Then you can tell me how you did it!!!

Maya, great. but i wish to get the hang with 3d max first before i try out maya. i'm very new to 3d, just less than one week old since i started using them, learn from my art director, well all the best to your 'maya' study, and i'm also eager to see some of your 3d works as well.

It seems to be a good work for a first try, AL ^^ I guess your character rounded forms will not be as easy as mecha's straight ones, but no try, no success! ^______^ *cheers him*
