Description
About a decade ago I tried to build the Warhammer 'mech from BattleTech (AKA: Tomahawk Destroid from Macross). And even then I wasn't too happy with it. Then 7 or 8 years ago I built the Reseen Warhammer from Tech Readout: Project Phoenix. And with just a single preview image, that particular model didn't look all that good either. So a couple months ago, I started a thread at MechWarrior Online fan art forums [link] where I showed my build process where I blended elements from both the Tomahawk Destroid and the Reseen Warhammer, as well as added my own touches to create my own design.

One of my favorite Mechs, the detailing is very well!

I rather like it. Stays true to the original while being different enough to be a reseen.

Thank you! That was partly my aim. Overall I wanted to put my own touch on the project and create something semi-original. Yet still recognizable for what it is.

While the original was a Macross Destroid and overshadowed by the Veritech fighters, I think BattleTech made it iconic.
I'm glad you like my version of this best!

Thanks! The tricky bit isn't just slapping on greebles and kibble and whatnot, but to make the extra parts look like they belong there and have purpose.

I did what I could to make it look like a big, stompy war machine! I even went as far as detailing the cockpit on this one.

Detailing the cockpit... I hope we will see a render of that soon

Beautiful stuff.
I actually remember looking through that thread a few months ago, while doing mad searches through google images for reference pics for my mech models. It's cool to see the finished product.
The details are wonderful; this thing really looks like a functioning piece of machinery. The arm-mounted PPCs are especially sexy (are those, like, pneumatic recoil suppressors running under the barrels? cuz that's frickin sweet!)

It's sort of like that, yes. I remember reading in some fluff text that the Warhammer has reinforced PPC barrels for doing physical combat. So, I added the pistons attached to a hardened "hammer" cowling to both protect the weapon's components and to give added force to a strike.
